Also note that this week, there will not be a daily Liturgy on Monday or Thursday evening. We will have Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM.

Passing of Ida Roderick

Dear Parishioners of OLOP:

It is my sad duty to inform you that Ida M. (Watkins) Roderick passed away March 27. Ida is the wife of Leo Roderic, the mother of Barry (Susan) Roderick, and the brother of Robert (Rillis) Watkins.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 3, from 2:00-5:00 PM, at Saunders-Dywer Funeral Home, 495 Park Street, New Bedford, MA. The Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, April 4, at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Purgatory Church. The obituary can be seen here.

Passing of Walter Chomak

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Purgatory:

It is my sad duty to inform you that Walter Chomak passed away this past week. Our condolences go out to his devoted wife MaryAnne (Peters) Chomak, his children Tara Boukheir, Nina Chomak (Donnelly), Kyra Chomak (Lawton), Walter Paul, and his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 9 AM, at Our Lady of Purgatory Church.

Passing of Robert Morad – Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection – Friday 4/1/22 at 10 AM

Dear Parishioners of OLOP:

It is my sad duty to inform you that Robert Morad passed away on February 28. Robert is the father of Victoria and Zachary, the brother of Linda Morad, George (Susan), and Mark (Ruth), and grandfather of Layla and Rory. Our condolences and prayers are sent to all of his family.

The Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, at Our Lady of Purgatory Church, at 10:00 AM.

Joseph Heneine from Saint Anthony of Desert in Fall RIver Passed Away Sunday 3/13/22

Dear Parishioners of OLOP:

It is my sad duty to inform you that Joseph Heneine from our sister parish of Saint Anthony of the Desert in Fall River, passed away this past Sunday. Joseph is survived by his wife Emily, his children Maguy, Tony (Jocelyne), Fadi (Rima), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sisters Angela Ameen, Rausette Boulos and Lucy Heneine.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 16, from 5-8 PM, at Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, MA, and Liturgy of the Christian Burial on Thursday, March 17, at 10 AM, at Saint Anthony of the Desert Church. Funeral arrangements are attached to this email.

Below please find a message from Chorbishop Sharbel Maroun regarding the Annual Clergy Conference and NAM Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota, July 11 – 17, 2022.

As you know the Clergy Conference (Monday evening to Thursday afternoon, July 11-14) is required of all priests serving in the Eparchy. Deacons and Subdeacons are not required to attend but are most welcome.

Please share the information about the Convention to your parishioners.
