Passing of Hiam Chaib

Dear Parishioners of OLOP:

It is my sad duty to inform you that Hiam Chaib passed away peacefully yesterday. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her children Tony Chaib of Lebanon, Charbel Chaib of Italy, and Marie (Chaib) George Abi Rached of Dartmouth, MA, and her sister Amal and Gaby Baroody.

Visitation will take place at Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home, 495 Park Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, on Thursday, June 17, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. The Prayer of Bakhoor will be prayed at 5:00 PM.

Funeral Services will take place at Our Lady of Purgatory Church, on Friday, June 18, at 10:00 AM, and burial immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

May Almighty God welcome Hiam into His kingdom and may her soul rest in peace. Allah yerhamma.

Save the Date & Registration Link: Light of Life Bible Camp, August 2-6th, 2021 930-230 PM at Saint Anthony of the Desert Church Fall River MA

Dear Parents & Friends,

We hope this email finds you well and healthy.

Please find attached our Summer Camp Flyer for our 10th Light of Life Bible Camp. We are happy to announce that the theme for this year will be: “The Ten Commandments.”

Our Bible Camp will take place during the week of August 2-6 from 9:30-2:30pm at Saint Anthony of the Desert Church in Fall River.

We ask you to share the flyer and invite families you know. Children ages 5-12 are welcome to participate in the week long program. Teens 13+ may ask the sisters to qualify as volunteers.

To help defray the expense for supplies and activities during the camp week we are asking for a $50 donation per child.

Passing of Malek Hayek

Dear Parishioners of OLOP:

With much sadness, I was informed of the passing of Malek Hayek this week. Malek was a dear friend to many of us at Our lady of Purgatory. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his wife Joelle, his three children, his mother, brothers and sisters, and his many friends.

The wake service will take place on Sunday, May 23, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA, where the Prayer of Incense will be prayed at 6:00 PM. The Liturgy for his soul will be celebrated on Monday, May 24, at 11:00 AM, at Saint Theresa Church in Brockton, MA.
